Happy Dance! An email arrived today to inform me that my Halloween Party Invitations had been chosen to feature on an Etsy Treasury, chosen by Vintage Library. Wow!
So excited.

Searching through Etsy

Thank you to How About Orange for bringing this to attention. One can now search through Etsy much easier by using the site Picclick. Just click on the Etsy button and search. Lots and lots of images will appear. So I thought I would put it to the test. I have reopened my Etsy shop, but it looks a little lonely, seeing I only have one product in the shop. That will be ratified later.

My search was a success.

To Etsy or not to Etsy...

To Etsy or not to Etsy, that is the question. I just realised last night that all my products had expired on my Etsy account. So I am in a delimma, do I continue with my Etsy account or just concentrate on my Made It account?

I have only had one sale on Etsy, since I joined. What do other people think? I would love to hear your opinions and experiences.

Craft or Business / Etsy

I consider myself still very new to the craft scene (began March 2009) so I feel I still have much to learn. A few of the crafters I consider mentors or my little Yoda's :-). You know who you are. :-)

I have started thinking where am I going to go in 2010, answers to this million dollar question will be covered in another post. Other crafters are also thinking about their direction. I understand everyone wants to create but also make a dollar on the side. When do we decide to go from a small business to a business that can put a lid on our creativity?

There is a really interesting article on The New York Times web site, check it out here

Questions for fellow crafters / bloggers....

I need your help fellow crafters and bloggers. I have two questions:-

1) I would like to put up free downloadable printables products in PDF form on my blog, how do I do that?

2) I would like to put downloadable PDF items on my Etsy shop, how do I do that?

Thanks all. I need the advice.

My 1st Sale!

I cannot express to you how ecstatic I was this morning to find an e-mail notifying me that someone had purchased a product from my Etsy store. Also to discover that the customer lives in USA. I was so excited and extremely stunned. Wow, yeah someone liked my work! I straight away rang up Margaret (Konstant Kaos) informing her of the news.

So today I made the trip to Australia Post and sent off my first little bundle of joy. Yes, it is like sending off a little bit of one's self. I was just so happy I wanted to send a virtual hug to the US. For those who are interested, it was the Halloween Invitations.

New items on my Etsy Shop

I think I'm getting better at the photo taking of my products. It's definitely an art form taking photos of products, making them look decent. Even with the help of software packages, such as Photoshop CS3, it can still be a bit tricky.

So have a look at the new products. Leave a comment, would like to know what you think of the bookmarks

Hello Etsy - welcome to my shop

Well today was nerve racking and exciting at the same time. It was time to finally bite the bullet and sign up to Etsy.

Started by taking photos outside. That was fine until our dog Ben decided he wanted to chew on the blue tac that I had brought out to hold down the cards. He thought it was a wonderful game, I on the other hand was not amused.

Ok next stage joining Etsy, Paypal and then loading up my little babies. It was a roller coaster of emotions, 'will people like my work, excitement, fear, this is fantastic can't wait to put the other products up and of course relief.' I have made the big move.

Pivotal Xpressions and my products are my babies, holding them up to the world is probably one of the hardest things I have done in my life. But it's been worth it.

Lastly I want to thank my husband for all his endless support, my mum Jan for her encouragement and lastly Margaret from Konstant Kaos. Thank you

Jellibat

This is one of my favourite Etsy sites - Jellibat The lass makes these great toys which are fun and unique. Recently I purchased a jelli-bot which I call Aloysius, named after the bear from 'Brideshead Revisited', which proudly sits next to my computer.

This very cute toy is just calling me.
